Dear SNE Athletes and Families,
We really need more volunteers and staff so we can continue to provide fun and fair competition events for Southern New England Series members. Please consider becoming a part of the local USASA team.
What do we need?
1 Volunteers
This is a role parents can provide. We will train you to help us manage the start area. This role requires some online training, background check, certification through safe sport as well as USSA and USASA memberships.
2 Judges
Ideal candidates are not parents of current athletes. Former athletes familiar with freestyle snowboarding and freeskiing are great. This is a (nominally) paid position that also requires safe sport certification, USSA & USASA memberships as well as judge training and certification.
Succession Planning
This is the 23rd season of our regional USASA Series existence. It has been my honor to lead this competition series for 13 of the 23 event seasons. I have been involved from the start (2004) as founder, Series Director, coach and event official. I look forward to continuing to support the series in future years as an experienced event official. However, this next year is a good time for me, and Co-Director Marcus Lombard, to step aside and let the next generation of leaders to take the reins. Our plan is for our Head Judge, Josh Bojanowski, and Adam Parker, parent, athlete soon to be tabulator, to take over as the Co-Series Directors of the Southern New England Series after the end the 2026 season. They will be transitioning into their new leadership roles this winter.
